Clayton had his 6 month check-up on Monday, October 5th. The doctor said he looked great. He weighed 17lbs (50%), was 27 3/4 inches long (90%) and his head circumference was 17 1/2 inches (70%). Clayton has been quite the little spit-up baby and we have tried several medications (Zantac and Prevacid), when he has formula, he has to have Nutramigen, and I have cut cow's milk out of my diet, but nothing has really helped much, but the doctor did not seem too concerned about the spitting up since he is gaining weight. For some reason, he hasn't spit up as much the last 3 days, so I have my fingers crossed that it is starting to improve, otherwise we may have to take him to a gastrointestinal specialist. Clayton can now sit up by himself and he is able to get on all fours and rock back and forth. Even though he isn't quite crawling, he can sure move around quickly by scooting on his belly and launching himself forward from a crouched position. He started saying "dadadada", which Nick is ecstatic about, even though we aren't sure he really knows what it means. He did start saying it to Nick when he got home from work the other day, so maybe he is putting it all together. Clayton has also definitely found his voice and he tries to communicate with us when he wants something. His favorite time for communication seems to be when we are at a restaurant. I think he sees us eating and thinks it is time for him to eat as well. Clayton has been continuing to eat his rice cereal and stage one foods, but he has decided that he does not like green beans or squash. His favorites are apples and peaches, but he also likes his peas. We are going to try him out on oatmeal this week, which sounds a lot better than rice cereal, so hopefully he will like it and it will cooperate with his sensitive tummy.
